It’s been just four days since UFC 148 but the Octagon will once against play host to tonight’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. Headlined by a possible middleweight elimination bout between Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman, the winner could find themselves next up for UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Just four days removed from Saturday’s UFC 148, the UFC returns to San Jose, California with the UFC on Fuel TV 4. The last time the UFC was inside the HP Pavilion was for UFC 139 last December which was headlined by one of the best fights of the year between Dan Henderson and Mauricio Rua.
Nearly 70% (15 of 22) of the fighters on the UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit card was issued medical suspensions today by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Of the 15 fighters to be suspended, seven of those could be out of action for up to six months. One of the seven fighters that avoided suspension was Nick Diaz who lost in the main event to Carlos Condit by Unanimous Decision.
Forget about tomorrows little NFL game (for now) because tonight is UFC 143 and for some, the main event between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit is their Superbowl. Their bout is for the interim welterweight title and offers fans one of the more exciting fights thus far this year.
With five welterweight bouts on the UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit card, including an interim 170 lbs. title bout and three top five fighters in the division, the card could be nicknamed UFC: Welterweights. The division has been ruled by Georges St. Pierre since the end of 2006, with only a brief reign by Matt Serra mixed in there. On Saturday for the first time in years a welterweight not named GSP will have a UFC belt strapped around their waist, albeit an interim one at that.
Sorry GSP, but this fight is better than anything you’ve done in five years. While Canada’s sweetheart rehabs his knee, two of the grittiest fighters in the sports history will tear themselves apart for a piece of the title as Nick Diaz faces Carlos Condit at UFC 143. If that wasn’t enough of a reason to grab this PPV, the awesome wager potential on this card should seal the deal for you.
