Yes there was that “other” MMA event going on tonight but in Sacramento, California WFC 7 held it’s own. The door’s opened at the Jackson Sports Arena and the fans began to pure in, each of them to route on their favorite local fighter.
UFC Fight Night 32 was an up and down night for Brazilian fans, as locals rose and fell against the invading fighters. Yet the big star of the night shone the brightest as Belfort starched GOAT fighter Dan Henderson in another highlight reel KO.
How often do you get to fight in a hanger these days? Not often for sure, but at Fight for the Troops, there was all kinds of action inside the base at Fort Campbell, and plenty of military men and women entertaining the soldiers. While most of the soldiers in the cage fell short of their goals of victory, there was plenty to see from a technical stand point on this card.
For the second time in 2013, Emanuel Newton defeated Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal inside the Bellator cage. There wasn’t a spinning backfist knockout this time around, as King Mo had that properly defended this time around but in the end is was Emanuel Newton once again getting his hand raised.
Lots of MMA action took place on free TV this weekend but one that did not have that luxury was the CFFC 28 event from the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event was headlined by former UFC welterweight Charlie Brenneman looking to continue to reinvent himself at lightweight and more importantly, capture the CFFC lightweight title.
Bellator was all over the MMA interwebs today with the news regarding their November 2nd fight card and tonight’s Bellator 105. During the night’s main card on SPIKE, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney reiterated that news to the fans prior to the Bellator 105 lightweight semifinal round. Speaking of those semifinal bouts, four fighters looked to advance to the final and earn the coveted title shot.
A busy weekend of fights included a fine RFA 10 card from Resurrection Fighting Alliance, with a great mix of Midwestern talent and potential international stars. With fighters like Justin Lawrence looking to get back into the UFC and a title on the line in the main event, RFA 10 held its own.
