“Jacare” Souza Retains Title, Submits Lawler in the Third

Strikeforce: Diaz vs Cyborg Live Results and Recap

Tonight live from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California Strikeforce comes home for the first time in 2011 for Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg. A solid 13 fight card that will feature both amatuer and professional bouts, ending with two championship bouts.

Welterweight champion Nick Diaz will defend his title against weightclass newcomer Evangelista ”Cyborg” Santos in the night main event, while middleweight champion Ronaldo ”Jacare” Souza puts his belt on the line against the heavy-handed “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler. The main card of the night will be rounded off with super athlete Herschel Walker making his second MMA appearance and Roger Gracie will look to continue the legacy of the Gracie name, in separate bouts.

Roger Gracie Keeps the Family Name in MMA

For Roger Gracie, fighting is part of a family tradition. The arts of Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu have been passed down through many generations of the extended family. Over the years, the name has lost some of its magic within MMA, though the younger Gracie fighters, including Roger, are looking to change that. Being part of such a large history of the sport, Gracie works to keep the family name in the sport for as long as he can.

Strikeforce: Diaz vs Cyborg Main Card Predictions

This Saturday Strikeforce will put on its second event and first non-challengers event of the 2011. Taking place live from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California the main card can be seen live on Showtime at 7pm PT/10pm ET.

The card will be headlined by two Strikeforce title fights and will also feature NFL great Herschel Walker, who will be making his second MMA appearance and Submission specialist Roger Gracie.

Herschel Walker Looks to do it Again

This Saturday at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg, Herschel Walker will look to repeat what he did in his MMA debut just one year ago. Standing in his way of going 2-0 will be Scott Carson, a virtually unknown fighter who will be making his Strikeforce debut against Walker. MMA fans don’t know much about Carson at this point in time, and come Saturday night, Walker will look to keep it that way.
