After a successful debut on network TV the UFC heads up interstate 101 from Anaheim, California to the HP Pavilion in San Jose for UFC 139. The former home of Strikeforce, the UFC is making their first trip to San Jose. With MMA legends and former champions all over the card, UFC 139 is one of the deepest fight cards of the year.
UFC of Fox was a bit of a flop, but easy money made it worth our while, and UFC 139 has similar heavy plays. Our main event is the return of Dan Henderson at light heavyweight, as he takes on former champion Shogun in a five rounder. The last time we saw Mayhem in the UFC he fought at Welterweight and valiantly lost a Unanimous Decision to George St. Pierre back at UFC 52: Couture vs. Liddell 2. Since then he has bounced around between many fighting organizations such as Icon Sports, DREAM, WEC and most recently, Strikeforce.
In October of 2008 Patrick Cote was riding a 5 fight winning streak and had earned himself a middleweight title fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 90. Cote came into the fight with a record of 13-4 and hopes of changing his life by capturing the UFC middleweight championship.
