The weekend is packed with sports but it was tonight’s LFC 29 that gets it all started. Besides the main event, the LFC 29 fight card wasn’t filled with “names” to grab you attention. That didn’t stop the fights from being entertaining though and here is what stood out to me.
It’s another night of Texas showdowns, as Legacy Fighting Championships puts on a title fight with local pride on the line at Friday’s LFC 25. Jorge Patino will bring his Lightweight belt to the cage for another challenge, as he takes on rising force in Texas MMA, Carlos Diego Ferreira.
From inside the Lubbock Civic Center in Lubbock, Texas Legacy Fighting Championships 22 put some of the past and present MMA talent from the state of Texas. Headlined by one of Lubbock’s own fighters, Paul Buentello took on James McSweeney in his light heavyweight debut after a long career at heavyweight.
Twenty-two shows in and still running hard, Legacy Fighting Championships have planted the seeds of many careers, and continue to turn out a hearty crop of fighters. This time however, the main event will feature names from outside the organization, as Paul Buentello drops to 205lbs and faces TUF fighter James McSweeney.
As the elimination round comes to a close, the final five spots were up for grabs on tonight’s Fight Master: Bellator MMA. After the first 11 elimination bouts, Rino Sport, Extreme Couture and Shamrock MMA have three of their four sports filled while Jackson’s MMA still has two openings.
The field of 32 for Spike TV’s “Fight Master: Bellator MMA”, which is set to premiere on June 19th, is now official. Spike TV’s return to the MMA Reality series genre will bring 32 welterweights together under the guidance of coaches Randy Couture, Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock, and Joe Warren for a spot in a Bellator MMA Tournament and $100,000.
Legacy Fighting Championship was back in action tonight in Houston, Texas as they presented Legacy Fighting Championship 12. With some late changes at the top of the card, MMA veteran Jay Hieron ended up headlining the card against late replacement, Romario Manoel Da Silva.
With severe weather and a tornado warning outside the Arena Theater in Houston, Texas, Legacy Fighting Championship 11 entertained fans with 11 MMA bouts. The night’s main card, which was headlined by a lightweight title fight, was broadcasted live on HDNet.

Bellator 100 Weigh-in Pictures
Last night the fighters for tonight’s Bellator 100 stepped onto the scales with all 24 fighters making weight. The historic 100th event for Bellator takes places tonight from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona and features an all welterweight main card on Spike TV.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.
The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale Weigh-in Pictures
Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.
