The field of 32 for Spike TV’s “Fight Master: Bellator MMA”, which is set to premiere on June 19th, is now official. Spike TV’s return to the MMA Reality series genre will bring 32 welterweights together under the guidance of coaches Randy Couture, Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock, and Joe Warren for a spot in a Bellator MMA Tournament and $100,000.

The long break between UFC events is nearly over and the lull of March will soon return to jam-packed MMA action. Even with the long break, the month was carried primarily by Bellator who delivered some great outcomes.
Season 6 for the Bellator organization is in full swing now, and the 63rd event featured the beginning of this season’s welterweight tournament, as the eight competitors narrow the field down in the four scheduled main card match-ups.

Friday’s Bellator 63 will host the start of the welterweight tournament, where one fighter hopes that the third time will be the charm.
Bellator is three weeks into its 6th season and will now kick off its Welterweight tournament with the quarterfinal round at next week’s Bellator 63. Despite two setbacks to two original participants of the tournament, Bellator filled the slots and will now look to crown their next tournament champion and the future #1 contender to the Welterweight Championship, currently held by Ben Askren. Askren will defend his title the following week at Bellator 64 against Season 5 champion, Douglas Lima.
The Welterweight tournament was narrowed down to two combatants following the outcomes of the bracket match-ups at Bellator 53. The four remaining competitors were Ben Saunders, Douglas Lima, Chris Lozano, and Luis Santos, with Lima being matched up with Lozano and Saunders fighting Santos.
It was the welterweight tournament that was given the honor of kicking off the fifth season for Bellator from Caesars Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey. A staple of the Bellator tournaments, the welterweights do not disappoint at Bellator 49 with four competitive fights.
The highly anticipated fifth season from the Bellator Fighting Championship gets underway on September 10th with Bellator 49. The newest season will feature four tournaments taking place in the Bantamweight, Welterweight, middleweight and heavyweight divisions. The quarterfinal rounds for all four tournaments will take place over between Bellator 49 and Bellator 52; here is a preview of season five.
