Exclusive Interview with Charlene Princess Gellner

As MMA continues to grow, more and more female’s are training and becoming professional Mixed Martial Artists. One such female is amateur Charlene Princess Gellner, who will making her professional MMA debut later this month at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg.
We recently sat down with Gellner for and exclusive interview:
Where do you train at?
I train outta bay area fight academy, darcio lira jiu jitsu, and kennel boxing gym
What got you into MMA?
I’ve always liked it and watched it on television, and I’ve done competitive sports, and my one of my buddies invited me to his class an I was hooked!
What is your record?
3-0 as an amateur I’m making my pro debut at the end of this month.
I understand your making your strikeforce debut soon, when is that?
January 29th
What are your goals?
To be able to make a living on doing what I love, hopefully to be able to open a gym of my own someday or become partners at the gym I’m at now.
What is your biggest accomplishment so far in your career?
Getting the opportunity to fight on a stage as big as Strikeforce, and becoming sponsored by such a known brand.
Do you prefer to keep the fight standing, or do you enjoy the ground game?
I like both, however I’m better on the ground, I love to ground and pound.
When your going thru camp, whats a typical day for you?
Well I work a day job still so right after work I go to boxing 4:30-6:30, Tuesday and Thursday. I go to muay thai after boxing from 7:30- 9:30, Monday Wednesday Friday after boxing I go to jiu jitsu from 7:30-9:30. On Saturday i have muay thai from 10am-1:00, and then boxing after. Sunday I have jiu jitsu 10:00am to 2:00.
I understand you have been holding fundraisers in the bay area, to raise money for your medical, and blood work. Where will some of these fundraisers take place at or if someone wanted to donate money, how could they do that?
I just had a fundraiser at bay area fight academy last night, I have a paypal account on my facebook wall people can donate that way.
