Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Have Agreed to Rematch In Toronto

After putting on a KO of the Night performance in his first fight at home, what does Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira have planned for an encore? How about avenging his UFC 92 loss to Frank Mir for starters.

It was announced yesterday that the two MMA Heavyweight Legends will rematch at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on December 10th as a part of the UFC 140 Main PPV Card. With this Heavyweight war being sandwiched in between the Velasquez vs. Dos Santos Title fight and of course the Lesnar vs. Overeem 5 Rounder, its likely that we could see the #2 UFC Heavyweight Contender emerge.

Mir defeated Nogueira via TKO back in December of ’08 after the two coached the Ultimate Fighter Season 8 together. Mir looked very impressive finishing off one of the all time elite Heavyweight’s in Nogueira that night in Las Vegas. Mir’s victory was however given an asterisk by many MMA fans upon learning that Minotauro had suffered from a very serious staph infection  just weeks earlier that forced him to spend almost a week in the hospital. Like the Shogun vs. Griffin 2 situation, this is a rematch that both fighters have wanted badly for their legacy.

UFC 140 will happen on December 10th inside the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
