Terry Etim Makes a Quick Return at UFC 138

Usually when you hear the phrase “it’s better to show up late, than not at all” it doesn’t pertain to a Mixed Martial Artist but in the case of British MMA competitor Terry Etim it couldn’t be more fitting. UFC 138 saw the franchise’s return to Birmingham, England on Saturday night and Etim put on a lightning fast display of both striking and grappling skill when he was able to submit Eddie Faaloloto in an astonishing seventeen seconds with a perfectly timed guillotine choke ruling out any questions of “ring rust” as Etim went to work on Faaloloto, and quick.

The timing for Etim’s return to the UFC’s lightweight division is also on point seeing as that the weight class is getting back to rolling forward and rapidly since the trilogy of fights between current champ Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard concluded sans any post fight debates in that we all know that Edgar KO’d Maynard in spectacular fashion. Clay Guida and Ben Henderson are next in line to state their cases as the top title contenders at the UFC on FOX debut and Donald Cerrone just made his most recent 155 lb. statement on the Diaz/Penn under card against Dennis Siver and now he gets Nick’s brother Nate at UFC 141.

Etim’s professional MMA record now stands at 15-3, (6-3 UFC) and he has finished all but one of his fifteen victories. Terry is definitely known as a submission guy and he proved why he has twelve submission wins to his credit at UFC 138 in a performance that also earned him the “Submission of the Night” bonus.
