UFC 139: Shogun vs. Henderson Fighter Salaries and Medical Suspensions
The fallout from the Saturday’s epic UFC 139: Shogun vs. Henderson event was released today by the California State Athletic Commission. Out of the 24 fighters on the card, 13 of them received medical suspensions with the obvious combatants receiving extended suspensions.
Both fighters in the five round main event received lengthy 180 day suspensions, but you had to see that coming after watching one of the best MMA fights inside the Octagon.
Along with the medical report the commission also released the 24 fighter’s salaries that totaling a whopping $1,524,000. The top earner surprisingly was Cung Le, who earned $350k for his 2nd round TKO defeat to Wanderlei Silva.
Here are the reported base salaries along with a full list of medical suspensions for UFC 139:
Dan Henderson: $250,000 (no win bonus)
def. Mauricio Rua: $165,000
- Dan Henderson: Suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact for a possible right thumb fracture, suspended days 60 with 60 days no contact for a “hard bout,” needs MRI/CT scan for clearance.
- Mauricio Rua: Suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact for a possible facial and skull fracture, suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for a “hard bout,” and suspended 60 days with 60 days no contact for eyebrow laceration
Wanderlei Silva: $200,000 (no win bonus)
