UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann Bold Predictions

You’ve got to love free MMA cards, right? How about a free card that features two flyweight bouts that will eventually crown the first-ever UFC flyweight champion? UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann might be headlined by a top welterweight showdown between Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann but it’s the 125 pounders that will be the showcase.

Two UFC veterans from the bantamweight division will drop down a weight class to make a run at gold. Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson have each fought for a bantamweight title, but came up short and will now look to earn another title shot in the new division. Benavidez will be taking on Yashuhiro Urushitani whom has been one of the top flyweights for a longtime now. Johnson on the other hand will be facing the former Tachi Palace flyweight champion and WEC veteran Ian McCall.

Rounding out the UFC on FX main card will be Ultimate Fighter winner Court McGee taking on Constantinos Philippou in a middleweight bout. The night’s preliminary card will air on Fuel TV, except for one fight that will stream on Facebook.

Things didn’t go as predicted at UFC 144 as we went a miserable 5-7 with our picks, dropping our overall record to 38-32. We look to turn things around this weekend……
