Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman Quick Results
Strikeforce: Rousey Vs Kaufman took place on Saturday night at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California, and was broadcast around the world on Showtime. The crowd gathered to see Ronda Rousey defend her title for the first time, against Sarah Kaufman, and they witnessed a familiar sight. Right away in the first round, Rousey clnched with Kaufman, and put her back up against the cage. With an inside trip, she took Kaufman down and landed in mount. Seconds later she rolled for the arm bar, and although Kaufman did a good job defending it, she was eventually forced to tap at 54 seconds into the fight. Rousey remains the Strikeforce Womens Bantamn Weight champion.
In the co main event Ronaldo Jacare Souza made quick work of Derek Brunson. Early in the fight, Brunson lunged in with a right hook, and Jacare landed one of his own that dropped Brunson to the floor. Jacare thought the one punch was enough to finish Brunson, but Brunson tried to scramble back up to his feet. Souza swarmed on Brunson and finished him with strikes from inside the guard to get the knock out win. The win was the first time he finished an opponent by knock out, and Souza was visibly happy to finally answer the questions about his capabilities with his hands.
