Our main event features the intriguing match-up between Mighty Mouse and relative newcomer John Moraga in a Flyweight tilt, with Rory MacDonald and Jake Ellenberger in the Co-main slot to make cases for a shot at GSP. The first fight of its kind inside the Octagon, Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche did well to represent the female mixed martial artists of the world in their title clash at UFC 157. Defending champion Rousey found herself in trouble right away in this bout, yet using her judo skills and a good bit of patience and grit, she was able to avoid the disaster of a first round submission. Back in control, Rousey turned the tables on her foe, and once again found her trademark armbar before the end of the first round.

Strikeforce: Rousey Vs Kaufman took place on Saturday night at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California, and was broadcast around the world on Showtime. The crowd gathered to see Ronda Rousey defend her title for the first time, against Sarah Kaufman, and they witnessed a familiar sight. Right away in the first round, Rousey clnched with Kaufman, and put her back up against the cage. With an inside trip, she took Kaufman down and landed in mount. Seconds later she rolled for the arm bar, and although Kaufman did a good job defending it, she was eventually forced to tap at 54 seconds into the fight. Rousey remains the Strikeforce Womens Bantamn Weight champion.
