Bellator 93: Jansen vs. Held Results
After a week off, Bellator MMA was back in action tonight with Bellator 93 from inside the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. The night was headlined by the finals of the season 7 lightweight tournament between Marcin Held and Dave Jansen.
Their fight would turn out to be the night’s only fight to go the distance but it was far from boring or slow-moving. Held threw all his submission attempts at Jansen, who seem to have an answer for each one. Jensen didn’t just defend the submission though; he also punished Held for even trying to get him to tap. Jansen took the unanimous decision and will now face Bellator MMA lightweight champion Michael Chandler later this year.
The remainder of the fight card was filled with several quick finishes, three of which lasted less than 20 seconds. Seven of the nine bouts on the Bellator 93 fight card ended in the opening round, including an unfortunate no contest due to accidental low blow.
