Reza Madadi vs. Michael Chiesa added to UFC on FOX 8
The next FOX televised UFC event is quickly filling up as the promotion announced the addition of Reza Madadi vs. Michael Chiesa to the UFC on FOX 8 fight card. Both fighters are coming off submission victories and will look to more up a notch in the stack lightweight division.
Ultimate Fighter Season 15 winner Michael Chiesa (9-0) made his first post TUF 15 appearance at UFC 157 where he defeated Anton Kuivanen via second round rear-naked choke. Chiesa remained undefeated and improved to 2-0 inside the Octagon. Reza Madadi (13-3) earned the “Submission of the Night” earlier this month at UFC on FUEL TV 9 with a third round win over Michael Johnson via d’arce choke. Madadi rebounded from last year’s split decision loss to Cristiano Marcello to improve his UFC record to 2-1.
The Chiesa vs. Madadi bout was first announced by Fox Sports.
The event doesn’t have an announced main event yet but the card currently features two high-profile welterweight bouts. Jake Ellenberger will take on Rory MacDonald in a battle of top ranked fighters while Robbie Lawler will take on Tarec Saffiedine, who is the last man to hold the Strikeforce welterweight title.
UFC on FOX 8 will take place from the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington on July 27th.
