Airing their prelims for the first time on Showtime Extreme, Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine kicked off their 2012 year with the full card airing on free TV. To take in one step further its a free preview weekend for showtime so even if you don’t have Showtime there is no excuse to NOT watch tonight’s card.
From the HRH Lounge inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino today was the Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine weigh-ins. The small lounge was jam packed with fans that were all standing huddled up around the media area directly in front on the stage. All but one fighter made weight on their first attempt with Nah-Shon Burrell needing an extra hour to drop the extra pound.
The first Strikeforce event of the year kicks off the 2012 year for ZUFFA with Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine live from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. After the promotions was saved by a late new deal with Showtime, the promotion looks to re-build and re-tool.
In the North American professional MMA marketplace, a promotion is one of three things. It is either Zuffa-owned, a regional feeder or Bellator. There is a brand new promotion, called Resurrection Fighting Alliance, which will have the dubious distinction of incorporating fighters from all three.
