With an action-packed MMA weekend, Saturday night’s WSOF 6 is just what you need to cap it all off. Below I’ve highlighted some of the more competitive and interesting fights of the evening across the main and prelim cards, where WSOF’s home-grown products will look to shine, and veteran fighters will look up upset.
Tonight’s UFC 156 started the invasion of Strikeforce fighters making their UFC debut following the promotions final event. Three debuting former Strikeforce fighters fought on the preliminary card against very tough competition and came out with a clean 3-0 sweep.
Today is the day, UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem to end the 2011 year with a BANG! The year has been great to not only the UFC but MMA overall and on the day before New Year’s Eve fans are treated to a solid card headlined by the two massive heavyweights. The winner of the main event will most likely be the next in line for the new UFC heavyweight champion, Junior Dos Santos.
It’s not often we have a main event that hinges on a cup of urine. Drug testing fiascos aside those, we have a solid main event fight with an exciting undercard ahead of us at UFC 141. There are a few spots to make some cash here, so let’s put on our thinking caps and using my comparison betting odds and props to find the value.
The Ultimate Fighter season 8 winner Efrain Escudero got himself an early Christmas present today. After being released from the UFC in September of 2010, Escudero is back and will face Jacob Volkmann at UFC 141 on December 30th.
When Jacob Volkmann (12-2) left the Octagon following his split decision win over Antonio McKee at UFC 125, nobody could have expected what was about to happen. The Minnesota based fighter had just scored his second win with the UFC to improve his record to 2-2 with the promotion.

Tomorrows PPV isn’t the best ever but I guess considering the number of injuries it could have been worse.

Last night the fighters for tonight’s Bellator 100 stepped onto the scales with all 24 fighters making weight. The historic 100th event for Bellator takes places tonight from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona and features an all welterweight main card on Spike TV.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.

Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.

SAN JOSE, Cal. – Still recovering from Saturday’s UFC 148, MMAValor.com was inside the HP Pavilion for today’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 weigh-ins. A few of the fighters would need to step onto the scale behind a towel but all 22 fighters on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 fight card made weight.
