You’ve got to love free MMA cards, right? How about a free card that features two flyweight bouts that will eventually crown the first-ever UFC flyweight champion? UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann might be headlined by a top welterweight showdown between Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann but it’s the 125 pounders that will be the showcase.
One of the best free cards we’re likely to see this year, the UFC hits Australia again to kick off their Flyweight tournament and highlight some Aussie talent. TUF 14 Finale had some great moments as they rolled out the entire 16 man cast (minus an injured Akira Corissani), and allowed everyone to get their shot at a UFC contract. With so many new faces in a budding division, we need to sit down and figure out who’s going to make a splash and who will quickly be swept under the rug. Below are the winners of the undercard and all four finalists in a critique of their performance.
The lighter weights can scrap and the bantamweights and featherweights brought it tonight at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two new Ultimate Fighter champions were crowned and 15 of the 16 fighters that made it into the house fought on the card. Headlining the card were the coaches fighting on the finale for only the second time in the series history.
All the TUF 14 fighters made weight for tomorrow’s finale but Coach Michael Bisping had to use the towel and was still a quarter pound heavy. His opponent Jason “Mayhem” Miller made weight and told Joe Rogan that the “time for talking is over” after the weigh-ins. The lovable Bisping took is anger towards Miller out on the fans.
Introducing the bantamweights and featherweight to the reality series, TUF 14 was one of the series best to date. Now with the series over all that is left to do is crown two new champions at Saturdays TUF 14 Finale.
Episode 6 picks up after the decision is announced from Akira and Dustin’s fight and there’s more heated words and disrespect between the teams but hey, it is a competition. This fight was a tough one for me because Akira was my teammate and “Beast” Neace and I were bunk mates and progressively becoming better friends despite his messy ways.

Last night the fighters for tonight’s Bellator 100 stepped onto the scales with all 24 fighters making weight. The historic 100th event for Bellator takes places tonight from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona and features an all welterweight main card on Spike TV.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.
