Dan Henderson vs. Little Nog possible
Today’s UFC 105 Rumor is by urdirt who is reporting a possible main event between Dan Henderson and “Little Nog” Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Nogueira has been offered a 4 fight deal and his first fight would be versus Henderson upon signing. The younger brother of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira “Little Nog” is relatively unknown to the casual fan, but hardcore fans will know him from his Pride days. Henderson last fought at 185lbs. against Michael Bisping at UFC 100. He expected to fight Anderson Silva for the title at 185lbs. but Silva has injured his elbow and will be out until next year.
Henderson would be taking a huge risk with this fight though. Henderson and “Little Nog” already fought back in 2005 for Pride and Henderson lost via armbar in the first round. If Henderson were to lose the fight his chances of a title shot at 205lbs. and 185lbs. would greatly diminish. The upside though would be a victory would avenge his lose and possible get him a fight with the winner of the Machida vs. Shogun title fight. Nogueira will look to make a big slash in his UFC debut. UFC 105 will be of free TV so a win over a popular Henderson will get him known fast and almost assure him a title shot against the winner of Machida vs. Shogun.
I really like this fight as the main event for UFC 105. Henderson is an exciting fighter to watch and since knocking out Bisping a fan favorite. Nogueira will be making his UFC debut, coupled with the story lines attached…. I can’t wait!
