Strikeforce: LA Weigh-in and Predictions
Last night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Strikeforce held its weigh-ins for tonights Strikeforce: LA event. Trying to capture the action going on down the road at E3, where EA Sports is showing off their MMA game coming out later this year. The result is a much smaller fight card for Strikeforce: LA then what is normally seen with only seven total fights.
Inside the Crowne Plaza Ball room Salon C the 14 fighters all made weight in a rather uneventful weigh-ins. Besides a long stare down between Marius Zaromskis and Evangelista Santos everyone else was very tame.
There was however two events that Strikeforce would probably like to forget. On two separate occasions a fighter had to reweigh in due to issues with the electronic scale being used.
During NJ Noons weighing in he was a half pound over the limits, but when he stepped of the scale it still said 1 pound. Noons called them on it and the scale was reset and Noons again stepped on the scale, this time he was half pound under.
Also during Robbie Lawler weighing in he also weighed a half pound over so he dropped his shorts (underwear still on) and he actually weighed in seven tenths more. After several people messed with the scale Lawler tried one more time and he made the 195 lbs. weight.
Think it’s time the guys at Strikeforce invest in a medical scale.
