At Saturday night’s Tuff-N-Uff event, a celebrity title fight between MMA media personalities Aaron Tru and Lee Honish was set to take place as the co-main event. By the end of the dreadful three rounds, fans in attendance were left speechless by what they just witnessed.

Since the bout became official at Tuff-N-Uff’s February event, both parties have been verbally battling back and forth. Leading up to the fight, both men trained with their respective camps preparing for the charity bout.

Once fight night came and Tru and Honish stepped into the cage, fans were unprepared for what they were about to see. The opening bell sounded and Honish looked as if he wanted nothing to do with Tru, hands down and lazily moving his feet. Tru, who looked to be much more prepared for the fight, was throwing sloppy punches with little power behind them. A few times during the fight, Tru was throwing such wild haymakers that he would miss Honish completely and end up tossing himself to the mat.

Now, granted, neither man has had a fair amount of training to be able to come in a look like a pro, but the “fight” that these men put on was a joke. Tru took Honish down multiple times throughout the fight but seldom did he even attempt to finish the fight. And by the end of three, two-minute rounds, Honish was left standing, calm and relaxed while Tru was preoccupied by the bucket in front of his face. Eventually he found the strength to stand up to have his hand raised in victory. In a post-fight interview with Dave Farra, Tru could hardly speak he was so exhausted. He was then carried out of the cage by his teammates. Farra then continued with, “We still have one more fight left tonight folks, and this one is real.”

For two men who talked a lot leading up to their fight, they did absolutely nothing to deserve the media coverage they received for it. The fight was an embarrassment to those who dedicate their lives to this sport and despite the fact that all proceeds went to charity, neither man can truly call himself a winner after that kind of performance.
