UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort Bold Predictions

UFC 152Wipe away the cobwebs and shake off rust because Saturday is UFC 152 and that means its fight week. It’s been nearly six weeks since the Octagon saw any action and for the UFC that’s an eternity. UFC 152 brings the promotion back to Canada for the second time in 2012, this time they are in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.

Headlining the UFC 152 fight card is the man who was supposed to headline the UFC 151 fight card, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. After being relocated to the Toronto card Jones was originally slated to face Lyoto Machida but that would quickly be changed to Vitor Belfort. Many aren’t giving Belfort a chance in hell against the “new phenom” but he’ll look to make the most out of this opportunity.

The original main event, which will now serve as the co-main event will be the flyweight title fight between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson. The winner of the mini-tournament will go down in UFC history as the promotions first ever 125 lbs. champion. Benavidez defeated Yasuhiro Urushitani by 2nd round TKO, while Johnson defeated Ian McCall twice, though technically their first bout was later tabulated and ruled a draw.

Leading into the two title fights will be a middleweight bout between Ultimate Fighter winner Michael Bisping taking on Brian Stann. Their polar opposites in personalities has forced Bisping to focus his trash talking towards other fighters but he better pay attention to Stann on Saturday.

The UFC 152 card will begin with the preliminaries on Facebook.com and FX before the main card airs on PPV. It’s been a while but after going 7-3 on the UFC 150 predictions we are now 135-99 (57.7%) overall.
