With Bellator still on summer vacation the UFC filled the month of April with four fight cards featuring nine fighters that appeared on last months MMA Valor Fighter Rankings. Two of those nine were champions who successfully defeated their titles and five of the other seven also walked away with victories this past month.

If you’re looking for changes to the latest fighter rankings, take a peak at the welterweight rankings and then look no further. The slow month really kept things the same but the lone UFC event in March did reshuffle the ranks of the welterweight division.
This past month saw some exciting MMA action and some not so well, but as a whole the month of February produced several meaningful bouts to MMA Rankings. Champions Renan Barao and Eduardo Dantas made successful title defenses this month and Alexander Shlemenko was crowned the new Bellator middleweight champion.
Talk of TRT has been rampant in the MMA world following Vitor Belfort’s fight against Michael Bisping, and with good reason. Coming into the cage is the best shape of his life; Belfort easily dismantled the top-flight Middleweight, severing his ties to consciousness with a head kick in the second round.
Last night’s episode of UFC Tonight was filled with breaking news and busted rumors. Amongst the news of Aldo v Pettis actually happening and Demetrious Johnson being injured was a response from UFC President Dana White regarding the former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans.
The historic day is finally here and all the hype and talk leading up to UFC 157 will give way to the action. The first preliminary fight takes place on Facebook at approximately 3:45pm PT / 6:45pm ET before they are completed on FX. The UFC 157 main card which is headlined by the first ever women’s bout inside the UFC Octagon will air on PPV starting at 7pm PT / 10pm ET.
The majority of the talk surrounding this Saturday’s UFC 157 has been about the first ever women’s MMA about and Ronda Rousey. This is not a bad thing at all as it brings some much-needed attention to women who compete in the sport. There is however more fights than just the UFC 157 main event and some of them are pretty good too.
History will be made in the main event of UFC 157, as Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche battle for the first Women’s title in the first UFC women’s bout. That’s hardly all that we have in store though, as Machida and Henderson battle for a title shot at 205lbs, and many interesting Strikeforce fighters invade the UFC.
