Filling in for the injured Leonard Garcia, Jimy “The Kid” Hettes made his promotion debut on Sunday’s UFC on Versus 5, earning his ninth submission win in nine pro bouts, taking out former TUF contestant Alex Caceres with a rear naked choke in the 2nd round of the preliminary fight.
After dropping 3 of his last 4 fights under the Zuffa umbrella former WEC Featherweight Champion Mike Thomas Brown came into Philly with his back up against the wall at UFC 133. This is a guy who held a place on many folks Top 10 Pound 4 Pound List after his 2nd straight victory of Urijah Faber back in the Summer of 2009. Brown has since dropped one too many fights being pushed out of the Top 10 Featherweight Rankings and looking to save his job against Nam Phan on the Nights undercard.
The night didn’t go nearly as planned for Joe Soto tonight at Tachi Palace Fights 10 in Lemoore, California. The Inaugural Bellator season one winner and first ever Bellator Featherweight champion fought Eddie Yagin for the vacant Tachi Palace Fights featherweight title in the night’s co-main event.

Cage Fight and MASS Featherweight champion, Jim “The Kid” Hettes has found a new home to display his skills. Thursday, Hettes signed a four fight deal with Zuffa, LLC, the parent company to the UFC.

The Bellator Summer Series continues on July 23rd from the Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada as the four Semi-finalists in the Featherweight tournament battle it out to earn their spot in the finals of this Summer series tournament. This will be Bellator’s first event in Canada since the promotion debuted in 2008.
When the going gets tough, why not bully the smaller guys? Recently UFC Lightweights suffering from a very locked and loaded division full of about 15 top contenders have decided to drop weight and chase the UFC brass in the featherweight division. With the champion suffering many injuries and no clear-cut #2 challenger, a perfect slate is available for high-caliber lightweights to cut a little more weight and succeed.
