It’s rare when the rankings don’t see any changes but the outcomes from fights held in the month of January didn’t changes things in any division. That might have due to the fact only four fighters in our top five ranks actually fought last month. Not to worry though because February will see nine top five fighters step into the cage, including three fights where both competitors are ranked.

By the end of the UFC’s second venture on FOX, two things will most certainly be answered; Who will be next in line for title shot against both Anderson Silva and Jon Jones. Dana White’s UFC on FOX 2 Fight Week Video Blogs
Coming off the first UFC card on the FOX affiliate FX, the promotion makes their second appearance on FOX and first official event under the television deal. The card will feature three main card bouts on FOX preceded by an eight card preliminary card that will air on Fuel TV.

The light heavyweight division in the UFC is one of the deepest the promotion has. Jon “Bones” Jones lit the MMA world on fire last year by fighting a staggering four times, three of which were title bouts. Jones seems to be unstoppable, but that hasn’t kept his challengers from wanting to take the newest sensation in MMA down a peg or two.

A new year is upon us and the MMA community has a tough task at hand to best the year 2011 was. To start off the year right and one up ourselves we offer up first rankings of the year along with the addition of the flyweights (125 lbs.) to the ranks. With the UFC introducing the division early this year and crowning their first ever flyweight champion before the year is out it was only fitting.
