Several fights were confirmed yet not officially announced by Strikeforce today, including three title fights for their April 17thevent on CBS. Originally thought to be headlined by Feder Emelianenko, that idea was nixed by M-1 over the weekend. Fedor is now scheduled to fight on the promotions card in May which will likely also be on CBS, his opponent will be Fabrico Werdum.

On Saturday Strikeforce will be coming back home to San Jose for Strikeforce: Evolution. The last time they were in an San Jose was for the Carano vs. Cyborg event. Saturdays main event will be the long awaited lightweight championship rematch between Josh Thomson vs. Gilbert Melendez. There first fight was for Melendez’s Belt and Thomson won a 5 round unanimous decision. The fight card had 5 very solid fight until Robbie Lawlers opponent Trevor Prangley dropped out tuesday due to injury. As of right now Lawlers camp is saying he will not be on Saturdays card, meaning Stikeforce couldn’t find someone on short notice.
