Cain Velasquez defeats Brocktober

Topping off an interesting night of Fights at UFC 121, Cain Velasquez improved his perfect record to nine wins and zero losses, eight of which coming via Knockout or TKO. This is bittersweet to Velasquez fans who have heard from many different outlets that Cain does not have power in his hands, and will be too small for a wrestling powerhouse like Brock Lesnar.

Diego Sanchez Should Stay at Welterweight

Following a disappointing loss at UFC 114 against John Hathaway, Diego Sanchez needed to decide whether he would continue fighting at welterweight or go back to lightweight. Sanchez made the decision to stay at welterweight and give it another shot. This past Saturday night at UFC 121, the vintage Diego Sanchez returned and steamrolled through Paulo Thiago in a three round war, with Sanchez earning the unanimous decision. It was the Sanchez’s nonstop pace that turned the fight in his favor once the second round began.

Let’s Face it, Tito Ortiz is Done

Coming into his bout with Matt Hamill at UFC 121, Tito Ortiz was in desperate need of a win. A win would not only keep his career afloat, but also prove that the new breed of fighters don’t have what it takes to beat down the legends of the sport. Unfortunately for Ortiz, once that final bell rang, he was proven wrong. By the third round, Hamill was schooling Ortiz at his own game, ground and pound. Hamill earned the unanimous decision victory over his former coach on The Ultimate Fighter.

UFC 121 Poll Question of the Day

The UFC 121 main event for the UFC Heavyweight championship last night, was a lopsided contest between Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez. A changing of the guard as some have called it as the challenger, Velasquez beat up and blooded the champion to become the new UFC champion with a first round TKO.
