Product Review: King of Caffeine
I got a caffeine kit from Ty (The King) over at King of caffeine which of three different caffeine products. I have never taken anything like this before, as my extent of caffeine had just been soda & energy drinks. I took each product as it was described on the package, trying each on different day as to not mix products. My reviews are “My Take” on the product and not influenced in any way except by the caffeine. Lets get to the reviews:
Mad Dog Mint Chocolate Energy Chews ($3.50) – There are six chews it each box and each chew contains 100mg of caffeine. Besides caffeine there is also ginseng, B vitamins and taurine plus 1g of fat and 25 calories. When I opened one of the chews the smell reminded me exactly of Junior Mints, too bad the taste didn’t. The taste was not bad though it had a slight after taste but it was just not what I expected, didn’t taste like Mint chocolate. You do feel the caffeine though which is the reason you’re eating these in the first place. These chews also come in Blueberry Pomegranate, Chocolate and Tropical Blend if Mint Chocolate is not your thing.
Kick Brix Energy Gummies ($3.00) – These gummies come 6 in a pack the according to the package one bag equals 2 energy shots. The amount of caffeine is not specified for each gummie but there is also B12 and Ginseng in them. I only ate one the first time around even though a serving size is considered 3 gummies. They look just like an ordinary gummy but the taste is very bitter and hits the taste buds instantly at first bite. Once you get paste the bitterness though it all good and I instantly felt a boost in energy. As a note when I did take more then one gummie they gave me the jitters even though they say you can take 2-6 as needed and a serving size is 3. I personally could not handle a serving size.
Diesel Energy Stick ($1.50) – This is a powder stick similar to a pixie stick, there is 5.0 grams in each pack. It’s intended to be poured into your mouth 5 minutes prior to your workout. Each pack includes 60mg of caffeine, 250mg of taurine, 1.5g of creatine, 80mg of ribonucleic acid with only 8 calories. The fact that this stick has creatine in it really stood out to me because creatine is used to help build muscle. Taking this energy stick right before your workout would not only give you a boost but it could help you build muscles, not bad. I took this right before I got to the gym as directed and then walked to the gym. There is actually alot of powder in there but again it has a very bitter taste with a lasting bitter after taste that I needed to wash down with water before I started working out. The stuff works though as I found myself walking to the gym with a purpose yet I had none. At the gym I felt full of energy which was good since I hadn’t been at the gym in a while (Lazy). I worked out for almost an hour and felt good, plus there wasn’t any sort of crash later. Out of all three products this one I’d actual buy for myself and will likely do that soon after completing this review. The bitter taste and following after taste to me are overshadowed by how I feel after taking it.
I hope you find this reviews helpful and feel free to comment on your thoughts or experiences with any of these products.
