Urijah Faber finds a New Home at bantamweight

urijah faber Urijah Faber finds a New Home at bantamweightUrijah Faber (23-4) seems to have listened to the fan outcry (or need for a change) after his Decision loss to Jose Aldo and made a move down to Bantamweight (135lb). It seemed like the only thing stopping him was his training partner in Joseph Benavidez (12-1) who is the number one contender and is facing the champ Dominick Cruz (15-1) at WEC 50. Faber seems to be in full swing training for Takeya Mizugaki at his camp Team Alpha Male.

Takeya Mizugaki (13-4-2) is best known for his zombie esque fight with Miguel Torres where he dropped what seemed to be a close decision loss in one of the best unknown of fights of the 2009. Takeya Mizugaki is top 10 ranked fighter and is coming off a win over Rani Yahya at the most recent pay per view event.

This seem to be the right move for Faber right now, he is taking a very tough fight at 135 to throw him right in the mix if he wins, or give Takeya Mizugaki the recognition needed for the casual fight fan. This event has been verbally agreed for WEC 50 on August 18th as part of the night main card or even the night’s co-main event.
