Injury plagued Todd Duffee released from UFC

todd duffee Injury plagued Todd Duffee released from UFCToday out of nowhere the UFC has released heavyweight Todd Duffee, according to MMAJunkie. It’s the same Todd Duffee who knocked out Tim Hague at UFC 102 in a UFC record time of seven seconds. Following his UFC debut, Duffee was being called everything from can’t miss prospect to future heavyweight champ.

Duffee was schedule to fight again at UFC 107 but was forced to pull out with a back injury. He made his return at UFC 114 against Mike Russow, after winning the first two and a half rounds Russow caught Duffee with a right hand which knocked Duffee out cold.

The loss shocked everyone but Duffee was scheduled to make his third trip into the octagon at UFC 121 against Jon Madsen. One month after the fights was announced Duffee again was forced to withdraw due to injury, this time a knee injury.

That makes two fights Duffee withdrew from in the span of one year, couple that with his (1-1) record and that apparently equals your UFC pink slip.

Duffee is now a free agent and once healthy he’ll get several hard looks from other top MMA promotions.

With heavyweights being a limited commodity, I am surprised that the UFC didn’t wait around for Duffee to get healthy. Especially a fighter who is 7-1 and is known for knocking people out. He won’t be a free agent for long, assuming he does get healthy… maybe there is more to his injuries than whats being reported.

There has been rumors that he is a dbag but I’ve also heard that he might have faked the injury to do the movie never back down 2. If thats the case then I’d assume he got the walking paper for that.
