UFC 125 Prelims Land on ION Network
After being told that Spike TV would not be airing any UFC 125 preliminary fights prior to the PPV card, in steps the ION Network. Practically out of nowhere a network that very few knew even existed will be airing preliminary fights from UFC 125.
The news was first broke by MMAjunkie, writing “The Ultimate Fighting Championship has a new home on cable television – at least for one night”
Dana White also said that instead of the typical two fights that are aired on Spike that there would be three fights shown this Saturday on ION. That is a bold statement from White considering there will only be the typical hour used to air three bouts. The televised bouts will consist of Baroni vs. Tavares fight, Marcus Davis vs. Jeremy Stephens and Josh Grispi vs. Dustin Poirier.
While the move is great news for MMA fans, it does pose many questions directed to the UFC.
What does this mean for Spike TV?
Will this be the only prelims shown on the ION Network?
What channel is the Ion Network?
Is this the long talked about “network” deal for the UFC?
