Bellator 47 Main Card Predictions
The middle event of the Bellator summer series comes to the Casino Rama in Rama, Canada this Saturday July 23rd. The card (Bellator 47) will mark the promotions first event in Canada and will be headlined by the semifinal round of the featherweight tournament.
After a successful quarterfinal round that saw Pat Curran, Ronnie Mann, Marlon Sandro and Nazareno Malegarie victorious, the four now look to advance to the finals.
The nights first tournament bout will feature Marlon Sandro (18-2) making his second Bellator appearance against Nazareno Malegarie (20-1). Sandro made is promotional debut in the quarterfinal round and defeated Genair da Silva by a close split decision. The former Sengoku champion looked a bit off in the fight and will need to improve from that performance to get past the Argentine. Malegarie bounced back from his first career loss at Bellator 37 by submitting Jacob DeVree in the opening round.
In the other tournament bout, Pat Curran (14-4) will look to reach the final in his second tournament by taking on the current Shark Fights featherweight champion, Ronnie Mann (20-2-1). Curran won the season two lightweight tournament and went on to lose a unanimous decision against lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. Dropping down to featherweight, Curran quickly submitted Luis Palomino to advance to the semifinals. Mann has a successful promotional debut at Bellator 42 that earned him a spot in the tournament where he knocked out Adam Schindler in the first round.
The main card is rounded off byCanada’s Chris Horodecki taking on Chris Saunders and Heavyweight runner-up Neil Grove taking on Zak Jensen. The undercard or local feature fights as Bellator calls them will feature five bouts before / after the main card.
