UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans Fight Predictions

UFC 145 is the first UFC Pay-Per-View in nearly two months and takes place from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Headlining the night is the highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight between former team mates Jon Jones and Rashad Evans. There is no love lost between these two and the war of words is nearly over.

Much of the hype behind UFC 145 has revolved around the main event but there are some hidden gems among the remainder of the card.

Up and coming fighters like Rory MacDonald and Michael McDonald will be taking on very tough opponents on the nights main card, looking to continue the transformation from prospect to star. Two Ultimate Fighter winners in Mac Danzig and Efrain Escudero will square off in a pivotal bout for both lightweights and former WEC champion (Miguel Torres) looks to find his rhythm and return to the level he once was.

At last weekend’s UFC on Fuel TV 2 we brushed off the rust and turned things around, going 8-4 with our predictions. That pushed us up to 49-43 overall and gave us a little breathing room but by no means is anything to brag about. UFC 145 MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view)

205 lbs. Title Fight: Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans – Jones by TKO

• The longer the fight goes the better the chances are of the champion retaining his belt.

170 lbs.: Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills – MacDonald by Submission

• MacDonald’s ground game will be the difference.

265 lbs.: Ben Rothwell vs. Brendan Schaub – Schaub by Decision

• Should be a close fun fight, with a close decision.

135 lbs.: Michael McDonald vs. Miguel Torres – McDonald by Decision

• Torres needs to channel the aggressive fighter he once was if he wants to win this one.

145 lbs.: Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin – Hominick by TKO

• Hominick has something to prove in this fight.

155 lbs.: John Alessio vs. Mark Bocek – Bocek by Decision

• Tough fight to call but Bocek gets the decision.
