Resurrection Fighting Alliance Does It Again, Signs Tyson Griffin
We all remember that new kid in school, you know the one that transfers in and after a short time they’ve made friends with all the cool people and also made cool people out of kids you may have overlooked.
Well, Resurrection Fighting Alliance is like that new kid. The Nebraska-based promotion, which formed in 2011, has burst onto the scene signing big name fighters such as Joe Stevenson, Houston Alexander, Jens Pulver and Gilbert Yvel. They’ve raised up local pro and amateur fighters such as Tim Elliott, Aaron Ely, Jessamyn Duke and TJ Hepburn and made them “cool.”
Don’t look now, but RFA has added another big name to their stable, in former UFC Lightweight and Featherweight, Tyson Griffin. RFA inked him to a three fight contract. Tyson was released from the UFC late last year after losing to Bart Palaszweski, which made 4 losses in 5 fights. The result of the release equated to Griffin becoming one of the most sought after free agents in MMA.
According to RFA’s website, the Extreme Couture product will fight in their Lightweight Division, which after the recent signings of top prospects, Bubba Jenkins and Lance Palmer, makes for some potentially epic encounters in the very near future and will allow Match Maker, Scott Cutbirth to work his magic.
Having produced three quality shows in the span of one year and the fact that RFA continues to sign top talent to multi-fight deals, this “new kid” could very well cement themselves as a mainstay on the MMA scene.
