UFC 155 to Welcome Chris Leben back to the Octagon
Having nearly completed his one year suspension, middleweight fan favorite Chris Leben has verbally agreed to a return bout at UFC 155 on December 29th. The yearend event will see “The Crippler” face off against another brawler in Karlos Vemola, who has a finish in all nine of his wins.
Following his loss to Mark Munoz at UFC 138, Chris Leben tested positive for oxycodone and oxymorphone in a post fight. The fight was in Birmingham, England and the tests were conducted by the UFC who suspended him for one year on November 28th.
A member of the first season of the Ultimate Fighter, Chris Leben has fought 19 (12-7) times inside the Octagon and is best known for his straight ahead style. He’s been in there with Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva, Michael Bisping, Brian Stann and Yoshihiro Akiyama.
Karlos Vemola is coming off a submission loss to Francis Carmont at UFC on Fuel TV: Munoz vs. Weidman and is 2-3 in the UFC. The former light heavyweight had looked good in his fight and a half as a middleweight, until Carmont locked on a rear naked choke.
Neither fighter typically see their fights go the distance and with Chris Leben coming off a year without a fight, you can beat he’ll be head hunting at UFC 155.
