Jason High Moves up the UFC on FUEL TV 10 Fight Card
An injury to John Hathaway has allowed Jason High to move from the UFC on FUEL TV 10 preliminary card up to the main card. High was originally slated to fight Ildemar Alcantara on the Facebook prelims, but has now stepped in for the injured Hathway to face Erick Silva.
Hathaway announced via Twitter that ulcerative colitis, which attacks the colon, is what removed him from the UFC on FUEL TV 10 fight card. The unfortunate injury to Hathaway is a big opportunity for Jason High.
High (16-3) lost his UFC debut against Charlie Brenneman back in 2010 but has since reeled off seven straight wins, including the last three with Strikeforce. Silva (14-3) holds a submission win over Brenneman but is coming off a decision loss last year to Jon Fitch at UFC 153. Silva is 2-2 inside the Octagon and could find himself looking for work should he drop his second consecutive.
Jason High’s original opponent, Ildemar Alcantara remains on the preliminary portion of the card and will now face UFC newcomer Leandro Silva. UFC on FUEL TV 10 takes place at Ginasio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil and is headlined by The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2 coaches Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum.
