The month of November might have only had two major title fights but both would end with the challengers hands raised. The two new champions along with the other action last month gave the ranking plenty of changes, including a new number one in the heavyweight division.

It’s kind of unfortunate but WMMA still exhibits the appearance of being handled with “kid gloves” by many of the larger organizations that promote the female in the sport. The combination of lack of female competitors overall in the sport and the simple fact that it hasn’t been totally accepted by the masses is holding the women back. One thing WMMA does have going for them are a handful of “stars” that have shown they can put butts in the seats for their battles inside the cage.

The year is coming to a close and the holidays are set upon us. Before the fat man can break into your house and leave gifts in front of the sofa, it is time to give thanks. Reflect back and think of things you are thankful for throughout the year; a new car? new girlfriend? discovered MMA Valor? Whatever you are thankful for, be sure to recognize how awesome MMA is and what a big year 2011 has been for the sport.

The Strikeforce organization continues to showcase up-and-coming talent with their Challengers series and Friday night they held their twentieth show that featured the main event match-up in the middleweight division between Antwain Britt and Lumumba Sayers. In the co-headlining spot was something that WMMA needs right now which is some new press so the females can continue their crusade for total acceptance of their presence in the MMA world.

October was supposed to have three UFC title fights but unfortunately Georges St. Pierre got injured and had to withdraw from his UFC 137 title fight. The other two title fights saw the champs leave the Octagon with their belts, while the challengers dropped down in the rankings.

Bobby Lashley Gets first Title Shot at Shark Fights 21

Not everyone can hope to attain the same level of success in Mixed Martial Arts that former WWE superstar Brock Lesnar has accomplished. Following the lead of Lesnar was another former professional wrestler turned MMA fighter Bobby Lashley. Lesnar’s presence in MMA appears to be the exception and not the rule when targeting goals within the sport of MMA. Even though Brock’s credibility was questioned at the beginning of his career because of his association with sports entertainment leader the WWE, his legitimate Division 1A wrestling experience which includes a national championship proved to be his ace in the hole as he captured the UFC Heavyweight championship and has been at the front of the pack when it comes to pay-per-view numbers in the UFC.
