The UFC is pretty busy this week as they put on their third “Fight for the Troops” event Wednesday with UFC Fight Night 31 and then head to Brazil for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 32. Following a common theme of recent Fight Night events, these two cards are void of any true contender match-ups.
We’ve got a full week of UFC action ahead of us, and we’re kicking it off with a Wednesday Fight For The Troops UFC Fight Night 31 card. I’ve always liked that the UFC takes a stance for this cause, and the former soldiers fighting here always bring an extra bit of fire to the cage on these nights.
Veteran UFC middleweight Vitor Belfort has looked impressive his last two fights but those performances have been heavily clouded due to his TRT use. After defeating former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold with a highlight reel knockout, Vitor Belfort has been calling for a title shot.
The Holiday weekend is still in full force and the UFC has one more night of fireworks planned for the fans with tonight’s UFC 162 from Las Vegas, Nevada. The city that never sleeps has been home to fighters and fight fans for most of the week waiting for the UC 162 grand finale between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman.
Summer is here, the Fourth of July weekend is upon us and the UFC is home in Las Vegas, Nevada for its med-year spectacular UFC 162. The stacked fight card will be the final event of the “UFC Fight Week”, which also includes the very popular Fan Expo.
UFC 162 is one of the most outstanding PPVs in recent memory; there are titles on the line, number one contender spots up for grabs, and pink slips waiting to be handed out at every turn. Our main event is an interesting pairing, as long-time Middleweight champion and all-time great Anderson Silva will face the meteoric Chris Weidman as he looks to start his own reign at the top.
Days after Strikeforce held its final event; the UFC announced that several of the promotions fighters have joined the ranks of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Not all of the fighters are coming over but this also wasn’t the complete and final list, expect a few more to be announced in the coming weeks.
While the majority of the fights on last night’s Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine card appeared one-sided on paper, the middleweight bout between Tim Kennedy and Trevor Smith wasn’t one of them. Sure Kennedy had the name recognition and betting line behind him but his opponent was not push over and he proved that during their bout.
Bellator 100 Weigh-in Pictures
Last night the fighters for tonight’s Bellator 100 stepped onto the scales with all 24 fighters making weight. The historic 100th event for Bellator takes places tonight from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona and features an all welterweight main card on Spike TV.
UFC on FOX 7: Henderson vs. Melendez Weigh-in Pictures
Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.
The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale Weigh-in Pictures
Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.
UFC on FUEL TV 4 Weigh-in Results and Photos
SAN JOSE, Cal. – Still recovering from Saturday’s UFC 148, MMAValor.com was inside the HP Pavilion for today’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 weigh-ins. A few of the fighters would need to step onto the scale behind a towel but all 22 fighters on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 fight card made weight.
TUF Live Finale Live Results and Event Pictures
