WEC 51: Quick results

Tonight was another great night of fights from the WEC in Broomfield, Colorado tonight. From top to bottom the fights were action packed and darn right enjoyable to watch. The night was highlighted with a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Manny Gamburyan that put a nice exclamation on the night.

WEC 51: George Roop knocks out the Zombie

The Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung came into tonight’s fight with George Roop on a high. His was coming off his lose to Leonard Garcia at WEC 48, which many believe is the fight of the year and a quickly growing fan base. Everywhere you look at MMA events, you’ll see a Korean Zombie shirt somewhere in the crowd. Even his opponent, George Roop was wearing a Korean Zombie shirt as the two came in during the weigh-in yesterday. Roop is actually a fan of Jung, but tonight the two squared off in the main card of WEC 51.  

CageSport XII returns to the Emerald Queen Casino

On Saturday, October 2nd, Brain Halquist Production is bringing CageSport XII back to the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington. This card is headlined by CageSport Heavyweight Champion Matt “The Attack” Kovacs as he looks to defend his belt for the first time against Number One Contender, Nick Braker of 503 West Coast Jiu- Jitsu in Portland, Oregon. Kovacs fights out of the Arlington Kickboxing Academy and picked up the Championship Belt last May at CageSport X.

UFC 123: Joe Lauzon vs George Sotiropoulos official

The rumored bout between lightweight Joe Lauzon (19-5) and George Sotiropoulos (13-2) was made official today by Lauzon. Posted on his website, Lauzon announced the fight with Sotiropoulos will take place November 20th at UFC123 in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

TUF 12 Episode 3 Recap: The antics begin

Episode three starts off with a recap of last week’s fight between Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres and Jeff Lentz. Caceres defeated Lentz with a second round submission, forcing Lentz tap after he told his housemates he’d never tap. When the fighters got back to the house the drinking started and Caceres began running his mouth to whoever would listen. The rest of the house was shocked at Lentz, who let Caceres talk directly at him at their fight and why he lost.
