Just days away from the recently moved Shine event, taking place this Saturday on Pay Per view the promotion takes another hit. UFC veteran Marcus Aurelio has withdrawn from the lightweight grand prix with a reported injury suffered during training. He will be replaced by another UFC veteran Shannon Gugerty, who last fought March at UFC on Versus 1 against Clay Guida. Gugerty lost by second round submission and was just 2-3 overall in the UFC.

The Shine fights grand prix will also include Rich “Cleat” Crunkilton, “Alley Cat” Kyle Baker, James Warfield, Drew Fickett, Carlo Prater, and Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett. The lightweight Grand Prix is a unique throwback to the original format of MMA tournaments, the champion will be crowned in one night.

Shine Fights has been under fire recently, with having to more the fight a week before the event and rumors of unpaid fighters.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
