Ever since his debut at WEC 34 in 2008, Jose Aldo has been on a tear in the Featherweight division. Currently riding a 14 fight win streak, Aldo has only dropped one fight in his professional career and has seemingly cleared out the UFC’s Featherweight division of contenders since winning the championship from Mike Brown at WEC 44.

After coming out on top for the first two rounds by barely out pointing Terry Etim, Edson Barboza turned on the style with a spinning heel kick that connected perfectly sending Etim tumbling to the ground out cold from the second he connected. The explosive kick is the early front-runner for the best knockout of 2012, improved the Brazilian’s record to 10-0 and earned him knockout of the night.

The time has come, all the work has been put in and it’s finally time for UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes. The UFC’s second trip to Brazil in just under five months hit a pot hole at yesterdays weigh-ins as co-main event fighter Anthony Johnson massively missing the middleweight limit of 186 lbs. by a staggering 11 pounds. The fight will still take place as a catchweight bout but Johnson will lose 20% of his purse and was forced to weigh-in less than 205 lbs. today.
