While there is not one single MMA fan out there who doesn’t love a good knockout, there is nothing worse than seeing a fighter injured giving his all for the sport – especially if that injury puts the fighter on the shelve for a lengthy period of time, as was the case with the Portland, Oregon fighter Ed ‘Short Fuse’ Herman.
With five welterweight bouts on the UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit card, including an interim 170 lbs. title bout and three top five fighters in the division, the card could be nicknamed UFC: Welterweights. The division has been ruled by Georges St. Pierre since the end of 2006, with only a brief reign by Matt Serra mixed in there. On Saturday for the first time in years a welterweight not named GSP will have a UFC belt strapped around their waist, albeit an interim one at that.
Sorry GSP, but this fight is better than anything you’ve done in five years. While Canada’s sweetheart rehabs his knee, two of the grittiest fighters in the sports history will tear themselves apart for a piece of the title as Nick Diaz faces Carlos Condit at UFC 143. If that wasn’t enough of a reason to grab this PPV, the awesome wager potential on this card should seal the deal for you.
The fighters of Sundays exciting UFC on Versus 5 events learned of their medical fate today from the Wisconsin’s Department of Safety and Professional Services. 13 of the 24 fighters on the card appeared on the medical report, receiving either a 30-day medical rest period or an indefinite suspension.
What a night of fights tonight at UFC on Versus 5: Hardy vs. Lytle! Live inside the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the 24 men that competed tonight put on a great show for the MMA fans. From top to bottom the card had a little bit of everything, from solid debuts to veterans going out on top.

The Ultimate Fighting Champion comes to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a rare Sunday MMA card this weekend. The free event will open up with the eight fight preliminary card on Facebook and finish with the four bout main card on the Versus Network starting a 6pm PT / 9pm ET.
It’s not often you get a free card with this many excellent match-ups, but the UFC has really outdone itself here. The only things you can hope for in a card this stacked is that a lot of these bouts end early, and that we all make some money on the side.
