Pat Barry made quite the statement at the UFC on the FX 1: Guillard vs. Miller under card, as he was yet again matched up against a much larger opponent with a sizable advantage in height, weight, and reach. Standing at 5′-11” puts Barry in this position more often than not, but he always shows the heart of a lion, and a willingness to fight until there’s either nothing left in him, someone taps out, or somebody gets KO’d.

Many have mixed emotions about the former WWE superstar and former UFC champion, some stating it was hype and a money scheme while others were in his corner to watch him break free of the stigma he wanted to rid himself of. Now with his retirement announced following consecutive and brutal finishes, the NCAA champion should be remembered not how he came to MMA but how he left it and what he did while in its presence.

Most of the trash talk you hear seep from the lips of MMA fighters is little more than marketing tactics used to draw the attention of the general public. But every now and then, bad blood does indeed boil between two professional fighters, and when it does, you know things are going to get exiting, violent, and likely bloody.
UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida Medical Suspensions
Saturday’s UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida card from Toronto, Canada was a brutal event to say the least. Well the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Services backed up those claim by suspending every fighter on the card received at least a 14 days. However seven fighters, including Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Tito Ortiz and Mark Hominick received much stiffer suspensions of 60 days following their defeats.
Mir comes back from brink of defeat to be Big Nog
Frank Mir has been hearing it ever since his first victory over Antonio Nogueira, that Big Nog wasn’t completely healthy going into the fight, watering down Mir’s impressive victory. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion put those stories to rest as he defeated the former Pride Heavyweight Champion, stopping him for the second time during last nights UFC 140.
