Another solid showing by the young and talented LFC crew, as their top dogs went to war and came back largely victorious at last night’s LFC 26. There was plenty of action and a few potential UFC fighters down the road, so let’s check out what went down in Texas.
A card for hardcore LFC fans as some of the best the promotion has to offer will be in display during Friday night’s LFC 26. It’s a fight card that’s set to go fast, with murderous finishers across the board headlined by the former WEC and UFC fighter Leonard Garcia fighting for the featherweight title.
Tonight’s LFC 23 saw two first round knockouts under 10 seconds to open things and closed the night with two fights that will be in consideration for year-end awards. Aside from one fight, the LFC 23 card was very entertaining from top to bottom. Competing for live viewers against Bellator 99, LFC 23 delivered the goods and won the head to head battle.
It’ll be another outstanding night of Texas MMA, as LFC rolls out the canvas and gets ready for war at Tomorrows LFC 23. Our main event is a battle of time-tested veteran versus scrappy newcomer, as Pete Spratt takes on Tim Means. There’s another scrappy bastard on the card as well, with everyone’s favorite windmill, Leonard Garcia faces another Texas slugger in Nick Gonzalez in a two-man battle royale.
Tonight on AXS TV, Legacy Fighting Championship was back in Houston, Texas with LFC 21. While the card was headlined by two title fights it was the LFC debut of the former boxing champion Holly Holm that stole the show.
Texas premier promotion brings us another card with home-style fighters and two titles up for grabs, as the Bantamweight and Middleweight straps are there for the taking at Friday’s LFC 21. We’ve also got two anticipated Legacy Fighting Champion debuts, as Fight of the Night legend Leonard Garcia and professional boxer Holly Holm find their way into the LFC cage.
It was an odd night in Newark, New Jersey for UFC 159 as the event saw a couple broken body parts and a fighter incorrectly being announced the winner. One of those broken body parts was the left big toe of the UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Despite the nasty looking break the champion entered the record books by successfully defended his title for a record tying fifth time.
A handful of fighter needed the towel to make-weight and only welterweight Nick Catone missed weight for tomorrow’s UFC 159. Catone did not attempt to drop the extra weight so he will be fined 20% of his purse but will still face James head on the preliminary portion of the card.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.

Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.
