UFC 149 seemed to be such a cursed fight card but that all changed (hopefully) as all 24 fighters easily made weight today in Calgary. The injuries piled up and the changes were a plenty on the UFC 149 fight card, but the fighters that survived to make on the final card appear ready to go.

Saturday’s UFC 149 is probably the most changed UFC fight card in recent history. Between all the injuries and shuffling around, the card has seen nearly every fight different from originally announced including the loss of the featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Eric Koch. Surprisingly though the UFC pulled it all together and UFC 149 has transformed into a solid fight card.

It seems like we get a card like UFC 149 every year, where the injuries pile up and the card shuffles around to the point of ridiculousness. I must say though, the UFC managed to put together a great batch of match-ups from the players left healthy enough to fight, and a truly intriguing main event. Say what you will about UFC 135, but this card has me excited, not just as a bettor, but as a hardcore fan. The entire main card is worth the price of admission, with a theme of the night being grizzled veterans and new generation fighters. One such bout is the title fight, and while it isn’t the bout we should have had, former champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will look to take out rising superstar Jon Jones in his first defense of the belt. The real question is, how can we cash in on these fights?
