In what the announcers claimed was “the fight the world has been waiting to see” former UFC heavyweight champ Tim Sylvia defeated Paul Buentello to win the PWP heavyweight title. As the second round came to a close Sylvia used leg kicks to open up a clean uppercut on Buentello’s chin, knocking him out. The win was Sylvia’s third in a row and also gave him his first title since losing his UFC belt back at UFC 68 to Randy Couture. It was announced after the fight that Sylvia will next defend his title against Pedro Rizzo at a date to be determined later.
