Get Ready for Dos Santos vs Carwin by Watching This

With Brock Lesnar forced to withdraw from his main event fight with Junior Dos Santos at UFC 131 with a reoccurrence of his diverticulitis, Shane Carwin will now face Dos Santos. Coming off a long layoff due to injuries himself, Carwin will look to get right back to the top following his lose at UFC 116 to Lesnar.

Today the UFC held conference call on short notice to make what they labeled as “A Major Announcement”. When UFC President Dana White took to the phone he made it clear this wasn’t a “good news” announcement.

The UFC today confirmed five exciting matchups for UFC 131 on June 11th from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The event will be Headlined by a number one contender match in the heavyweight division between TUF 13 coaches Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos.

Shane Carwin to Face Newcomer Jon Olav Einemo at UFC 131

Finally the “Carwin Army” has someone to focus their attention towards. UFC President Dana White announced today that Shane Carwin (12-1) will make his long awaited return to the Octagon at UFC 131 against Jon Olav Einemo (6-1). Carwin last fought at UFC 116 in July of 2010 and has been sidelined with neck and back pain that required surgery since that defeat to Brock Lesnar for the UFC heavyweight title.

Kenny Florian Expected to Face Nunes at UFC 131

While former UFC Lightweight contender Kenny “Ken-Flo” Florian had dropped hints of making a move down to 145, many wondered if Kenny would actually do it. Any doubts of that have now been erased as Florian announced he will be taking on Diego Nunes at UFC 131 in his Featherweight Debut. Florian made the announcement on ESPN MMA Live.

Anthony Pettis Gets Clay Guida Next

The last WEC champion, Anthony Pettis has been targeted to face Clay Guida last this year at either UFC 130 or 131. The news comes after Pettis choose not to wait around for the rematch between current UFC champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard to take place.
