First visit down under for UFC coming together
UFC 110 is set to debut in Sydney, Australia on February 21, 2010. The event is sill three and a half months away but the fight card is beginning to take shape. The UFC has yet to confirm any bouts but here is a list of the rumored bouts.
- 185 lbs.: Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama
- 185 lbs.: Nate Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen
- 265 lbs.: Mirko Filipovi? vs. Ben Rothwell
- 205 lbs.: Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynsk
No main event yet but that’s expected with the number of injuries right now. So far though the card is looking pretty good, looking forward to the Bonnar vs. Soszynski fight. I think they are evenly matched and that should make for a very entertaining fight. The Marquardt vs. Sonnen fight is interesting because Marquardt right there behind Vitor Belfort for a title shot and if Sonnen were to pull of the upset then he’d most likely be next in line. I would expect the UFC to fill the undercard with many hometown fighters plus add a big main event to complete the card.
