David Loiseau and Keith Jardine Cut From the UFC
David “The Crow” Loiseau and “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine are the most recent fighters to receive their walking papers from the UFC.
The release of Jardine (15-8-1) came as a surprise to some fans. Even though he has lost his last four fights, he has truly made a name for himself in the light heavyweight division. With wins over Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin, Jardine proved to be a real contender. Jardine’s final bout in the UFC was against Matt Hamill at the TUF 11 finale, which he lost via majority decision.
Following the exciting three round slugfest, both fighters were awarded “Fight of the Night”bonuses. After the fight, many were uncertain of Jardine’s future. Consecutive losses are usually followed by walking papers, though Jardine was kept around just a little longer and really put on a show for the fans.
Unfortunately, that was the last night we will see “The Dean of Mean” inside the Octagon. Recently, fans have been speculating that Strikeforce will pick up Jardine, but only time will tell.
Loiseau (19-10) has been in and out of the UFC for the last seven years. Over the years, “The Crow” hasn’t been able to rack up the quality number of wins to stay with the organization, winning only four of his nine fights in the UFC.
In his most recent return, Loiseau was defeated by Mario Miranda via second round TKO at UFC 115. Unfortunately, redemption was not an option for the French Canadian as he was released just two weeks after his comeback fight. Odds are Loiseau will not be seen again in the Octagon. He will most likely continue fighting in smaller shows throughout Canada.
