TUF 12 Finale will feature Stephan Bonnar and Kendall Grove
As season 12 of the Ultimate Fighter gets ready to crown another champion, two of the series most popular fighters from the past will be showcased. Stephan Bonnar and Kendall Grove will join the two season finalist in anchoring the finale in three separate matches. TUF 12 features fighters in the lightweight division and the finale will air December 4 at 9:00pm ET/PT on Spike TV.
Season one runner-up Stephan Bonnar (15-7), who lost to Forrest Griffin in the first season, will square off against Igor Pokrajac (22-7). Both fighters are coming off recent wins, getting them back into the win column following losing streaks. Bonnar defeated Krzysztof Sosznyski at UFC 116, but has lost three of his last four and needs a win to stay relevant in the light heavyweight division. Pokrajac is coming off a submission victory over James Irvin at the UFC on Versus 2 in August; the win was his first inside the octagon.
Season three winner Kendall Grove (14-7, 1 NC) will look to make it two wins in a row when he faces Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu star, Demian Maia (13-2). Grove fought at UFC 116 against Goran Reljic where he won a close split decision, rebounding from a brutal TKO at the hands of Mark Munoz at UFC 112. Maia bounced back from his unanimous decision lost to Anderson Silva at UFC 112 to defeat Mario Miranda by unanimous decision at UFC 118. If Maia wants another shot at the belt a win against Grove is a most to put in back on track. Grove could make a big splash in the middleweight division with a win over the former #1 contender.
TUF 12 is only a couple of episodes in right now and fighters are being coached by welterweights Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck. Following the finale the two coaches will face each other on December 11 at UFC 124 for St-Pierre’s welterweight title
